Sam Brouillette, CP, CFo and Manager of Clinical Education is back to provide a quick overview of Steeper USA’s Myo Kinisi hand.
Steeper USA’s Myo Kinisi is a standard system type, three jaw chuck myoeletric prosthetic hand designed for the everyday. The secure grip, high speed open and close, and natural appearance makes this a reliable hand suitable for whatever tasks your patient confronts throughout their day.
Myo Kinisi Hand Highlights
The Myo Kinisi has a proportional speed and grasp force with a maximum grip strength of 80 newtons. This powerful hand is suitable for patients at levels equivalent to transradial and more proximally, in both unilateral and bilateral applications.
The hand’s integrated function button allows the user to engage the auto-grip feature to tighten the hold on slipping objects, and power the hand on and off.
Another notable feature is the mechanical safety release. If the patient's gripped onto an object and unable to release due to loss of power, they can push the safety release button located on the thumb to disengage. The mechanical safety release can be reset by pushing the button and moving the thumb back into the original position.
The Myo Kinisi can be used with a standard PVC glove, or an Elegance Plus Cosmetic Glove from Steeper USA. Skinergy Color Swatches can be used to select skin tone.
Steeper Configuration Device
The five modes range from mode zero to mode four. Mode one is the default, or dual site control, and includes proportional control, maximum opening/closing speeds, highest electrode mode, auto-grip enabled, and maximum pulses count of 3.
